Amsoil By-Pass Filters
Amsoil By-Pass Filters
I am a stickler when it comes to clean oil and changing it even when the truck really isn't ready for a change yet. I am running Amsoil and the By-pass system. My question is, how many miles are the filters rated for and can I just drain and refill with out replacing the filters if I do it half way between their life span? I have never sent the oil in to be tested and don't plan on doing it. Anybody run any kind of additive to their oil?

With all of your mods you really need to send an analysis in to see how your motor uses oil. Soot Loading happens much faster on modded and overfueled trucks. The soot will most likley determine oil life. And it will also fill your filters so I would change filters with the oil change.
I wouldn't run more than 15K miles w/out analysis.

i have the bmk-11 single bypass filter set up on my truck. i am using amsoil 15w-40 oil and i routinely get 20,000 to 22,000 miles between changes. i change my bypass filter at each oil change.
