Amsoil EaA189 Air Filter Install

I just recently changed my intake again, going from the MSAF and torque tube, back to the stock air filter housing plumbed to my custom torque tube. I filled the stock air filter housing with Amsoil's EaA189 filter. So far I like it, I have lost quite abit of the turbo whine compared to the MSAF, tho I can still hear it good enough to be content. The flow is ok so far, I havent seen it suck the minder down, as it did with the stock paper element - so I think all is well. The reason for the change was the added protection from the elements and to bring in cooler air. The reccomended cleaning intervals are at 25k miles, and can sustain up to 4 cleans. I may do an additional mod the to air box, running a length of PVC infront of the wheel well later. Hopefully this can shed alittle light on the advantage I saw in using a drop-in style filter.

You describe exactly what I run in my '06. So far I like the Amsoil filter, and the added 4" tube from the bottom of the airbox really increases airflow.

I have the same setup as HotRodK. It seems to work very well and I have had mine installed for 4000 miles and the filter minder hasn't budged.

My amsoil air and fuel filter arrived air last week. I can wait till the weekend so I can "chuck" the stock filters and "reset" the filter minder.
