Question Amsoil EAA189 filter

So i noticed that lot of ya'll have these filters. Do they improve performance any or just a better filter than stock is it ccomparable to the drop in k&n?. on my cai post one fella said mod the box and drop one of the babies in and i would get the same upgrade for less than half the cost. Also the oil filter do they filter better? one guy said he notices a difference in milage when he changed oil filters. said the less pressure the less the goat has to work and therefore gets better economy? whats the story on this. i have just a regular filter on. oils is usually about 60 psi when traveling with my goat.

The EA filter is a dry filter. Using the nano fiber technology it gives excellent flow and filtration. It is reusable by back blasting with compressed air.
BTW, the filter is made by Donaldson for Amsoil.

For oil filters stick with the Fleetguard Statapore.

With a stock air filter I could pull down the filter minder pretty easy and my engine has NO mods. With the Amsoil filter I have tried very hard (and with great fun ) and cannot pull the minder down at all. The amsoil filters better and does have more flow which does increase performance but it will only be a small amount. I will also be doing an airbox mod but have not decided just how to to do it yet.

Horse manure.

As far as the Eaa filters that Amsoil sells, they're great. Wonderful flow and great filtration thanks to Donaldson engineering.

To answer your question, yes, the air filter is dry, and it will filter better. The oil filter will also filter better, and IMHO, both products are very worth it. That being said, I would also look into the EAaU 4510 filter, along with some PVC elbows for a home made CAI setup.

I'm diggin' mine. Seems to work well and after several thousand miles of filtering out dirt I can floor the truck and it still won't pull the filter minder all the way down.

Not trying to hijack, but i have been running the Amsoil filter with good results. But in the process of always looking at new stuff, this morning i just put in the AFE-31-80102 DODGE CUMMINS SUPER STOCK IRF REPLACEMENT FILTER PRO DRY 5. Got the filter from DTR store. Good price and great service. All I can sy is wow. This thing looks awesome and seems do do its job well. I will no more in a few days after i get to drive it. I completed the DIY airbox mode with 3" flange and ducting from HomeDepot last week.
I have no pyro numbers, but gauges will be installed soon. I am keepng the nano filter as a backup when i need to clean the afe.

Hello, I have a 04.5 ctd laramie 4x4 stock and I love my 4510. Before I installed it I was running 2 cycle oil and howes meaner cleaner and was getting 20.5 mpg. After installing the 4510 my mileage went to 22.1 on the same two hour trip. I can only attribute it to the filter, nothing else changed. And I love the subtle sound of the turbo, which I could not hear before. Steve.
