Air in fuel ?
Air in fuel ?
Last night i got throught putting on a fass on my 2004 dodge. I got the truck started by cracking the # 1 injector ling to get the air out. then it ran fine for couple min so i shut it off and started 2 more time to make sure it was good and it was. Well i bolted the bed back down and tried to start it and it would not. I tried cracking the line again and it still would not start. My batterys got weak so I called it quits for the night. Any suggestions of why it would not start.
You don't need to crack lines on the CR trucks. All that you need to do is have the FASS line disconnected from the CP3 pump and run a couple of quarts through the line to remove contaminants and then connect to CP3. Turn it over and she should fire up right away. I have had to use a little compressed air applied to the fuel tank to get the FASS to prime on the 3 trucks that I have installed them on. I have filled the filters full of fuel before I started to prime as well.

you are a brave man to crack a line on a common rail. the truck won't even start until it sees 4500 psi or more of fuel pressure. so by you cracking an injector line, you are darn lucky you still have all 10 fingers. NEVER open an injector line on these trucks when it is running.
do as explained above. your fingers will like you a lot better.

The CP-3 will purge any air in the lines back to the pump as soon as its starts cranking. The injectors purge the rail as soon as the key is turned on. There is no need to crack inctor lines and as was posted its a bit dangerous.
Sounds like the FASS has primed yet and is not supplying full pressure to the CP-3. Start by making sure it will pump a steady stream there.

No need to crack any lines as stated and it is very dangerous to do so. The CP3 does the work for you. Just cycle the key a couple of times. You needed to add some fuel to the water seperator only if you got the Fass with the filters.
