air cleaner
okay.. just pulled my air filter out, and beyond what the little guage says on the box, it was black... So I need to replace.
My question, what is the best bang for my buck for replacement... I want something good for the turbo to breathe, but K&N's are $70.. OUCH.. esp at Christmas..
thanks in advance..

Nah, you don't want any K&N here. Some have had success with oiled filters but I've seen a couple K&N's in some friends diesels, and in both cases I've seen dusted intake tracts and dusty turbos. After that I knew they were not for me. I dont know if one of my friends still has K&N but the other doesnt. He got rid of his immediately and hasnt used one since even on his new truck.
Anyway the way to go is Amsoil. Their drop in Eaa nanofiber flows very well and filters excellently.
For what its worth the little gauge was pulled down from my first day of ownership with the stock filter. With the Amsoil filter it hasn't budged. However I put very little faith in that gauge.
