Well let's just say that I have friends in the right places, and I will have to leave it at that. What truck are you wanting to swap it into? I have one for sale for a Dakota... I used this in my diesel Ram for a while, everything worked great except I never thought the fuel mileage was quite right, I was told it probably wasn't because the Dakota's are all gas and I am diesel. I have not had the correct one in my truck long enough to say if there was/is a difference. I can tell you the Mopar part number on the new module was 56049707AC... call the dealer and ask them. The Dakota one I have is part number: 56049578AB.
Hey that was me, they are very easy to install, finding and getting one is the hard part.
Just on a quick note. If your DTE is reading way lower than your previous one, for instance when I installed mine, my old overhead read 536 after filling it up. When I installed the new one it read 382 filled up. I just went to the dealer and had a tech hook up the DRB and tell it I had a 34 gallon tank. I think they are shipped with a standard 26 gallon tank reading. No charge when I went to them. Just thought I'd pass that on in case you saw the difference.
Ah...thanks for the heads-up nonford. I haven't refilled it yet so I'll have to see. My original one usually indicated low to mid 400 mile range. Impressive that your's indicated 536 originally.
Boy, you got that right Nascarcamper...I waited over a month just to order one.
