aftermarket exhaust
i own a 2006 ram 5.9l and would like to install a "cat" back duel exhaust system in hopes of improving the fuel mileage. my problem is that there are so many systems to choose from, any suggestions? also is there any advantage to stainless steel ?

06 has a SS 4" system from the factory. My cat back system comprised of a flex pipe cat delete and had the muffler shop swap out the factory muffler for my Aeroturbine. Total cost, $330 for parts and labour.

The weak link in the factory system is the muffler. Eliminate it or replace it with a free flowing one. Everyone prefers different one's, I like my Magnaflow.
As far as duals, find one with a price you like, and you definitely can't go wrong with stainless.

i do not know what the donaldson # is for there 51" x 4" muffler but if you do a cat delete, cat back and muffler it will be as quiet as oem and reduce the back pressure a lot more than what you are trying to do you can go to 5" turbo back as cheap as mod to 4" a donaldson m090535 is $75-$96 the farm boys diesel turbo back piping is about $300 it took me about two hours to install by myself
