AFE Question

Howdy, My understanding is the differences between the AFE StageI and II is
Stage II, Torque tube is 6" at the box w/ a reduction to ? by the turbo.
Base of filter is also 6"
Heat shield comes w/a top.
What else?
Stage I, Stock tube, unless you by a TT
Base filter 4"
Obviously no shield top
Thanks.

I think you are correct I have the AFE Stage II and it is a great intake/filter combo. If I were to do it again I would build a ****** whistler they are basiclly the same setup for about 1/4 of the price you can do a search for ****** whistler to see pics and the write up on how its built. The whistler is also louder than my AFE.

the afe stage 2 I ran was very close to my oil filter which I was not a fan of. the afe stage 1 I ran with a tq tube and it fit alot better. you can build something much cheaper that does the same thing like he said above. some 4" pipe and a big filter you will be set.

Sounds like you have it down right.

Yep, like stated above, you have it correct. I have had both with all of the different filter options. Probably over priced, but they are good products.

Stage I with TT

Stage II without top cover on.

Those of you who have the Stage II, do you keep the top cover on it? Or should I take it off.

I would keep it on...can't hurt.

My recent data logging at the track showed intake temps reaching 118* by the end of the run.

I left mine off. I can't really see where it will make any real difference except while idleing.

Put it on if it makes you feel better, it certainly won't hurt anything.
