Is the AFE Pro Guard 7 oiled?

Is the AFE Pro Guard 7-drop in- an oiled filter? I've read a lot about , supposedly mets the requirements but lets more are flow. I also know it is washable and I believe it has a lifetime warranty, but does it have to be oiiled?
I've read all the threads but missed the oiling part.

Yes again. It's wasable but be carefull not to over oil it or it WILL restrict the airflow.

Yes but,

From what I have read, it doesn't flow much more than stock. I know mine still pulls the junky filter-minder down to the exact same level as with the stock filter. I have one of the trucks that seems to make a filter filthy in around 8000 miles so it's worth the $$$ to be able to clean and reuse it.

I just received a new Pro Gaurd 7 the other day.... JUNK. The metal screen was so full of metal splinters from not being cleaned correctly it was aweful!
I called AFE they said no problem we will send another n/c. When I received it, IT was WORSE.
I took the best of the two, picked all the extra metal off, cleaned it with my shop vac and got it right.
For $90.00 that's a horrible finished product.
My old AFE 4ply cotton unit was PERFECT when I got it.
Be Careful!

I got my megacannon with PG7 filter about 10k miles ago. The thing looked so bad (Dirty) I pulled it out to clean. I followed the instructions to the “T”, but it still looks dirty. There’s an area around on the filter that looks like a half moon of black dirt. I guess it’s a stain, but from what I don’t know. Have you guys seen this with your filters? I tried emailing aFe, but they never emailed back. I try calling them. What color are your PG7 filters? When I got mine new it was a dark gold. Now it’s mostly black with a little gold.

I have read that the K&N cleaner solution does a better job on the aFe filters. I have not tried it myself, but you may want to give it a try. With the popularity of K&N filters, the cleaner and oil are both more readily available also.

This may be opening a can of worms, but how do Amsoil filters compare to AFE and K&N??
