AFE intake

I see there are different "stages" for this airfilter/box...any big differences with the various stages? and will any help improve mileage?

for starters...i wouldn't buy an AFE...i have one and i am not that satisfied with it...when it is clean it runs very well, however, it get plugged up faster than any other air filter i have ever used...needs to be cleaned very regularly.
I would purchase a Scotty Air System...i do not personally have one...but those that i know have one do not have the problems that i have...

YFZ,

There are really three stages of AFE air intakes, the 75-10811 is a replacement box and conical filter that reuses the stook filter to turbo intake tube AKA Stage I, then you can add the Torque Tube 54-10419 which replaces the stock intake to turbo tube AKA Stage 1.5 ???. Then you have the Stage II 75-10812 which is an even larger air box, a larger filter with a 6 inch outlet, the mandrel polymer intake to turbo tube etc. It even has a lid to keep turbo whistle to a minimum, but I love the sound myself with the lid off!

The cleaning issue is real as the AFE Pro Guard 7 filters do stop the dirt almost as well as a stock paper filter, so you will need to clean it often to get max flow rates. The PG7 stops dirt all the way down to 1/2 of 1% in testing at independent filter lab tests, so it will clog up, much better than letting that dirt into you engine etc.

Call us if you have any questions we'll be glad to help you.
