Advice for my 03

Last summer I got a few mild upgrades as you can see in my signature.
This spring I want to add some bigger upgrades. I have searched the threads for about a week and tried to answer my own questions. I think I want to go with the EDGE juice/attitude and then add a nos kick for short bursts lasting only 10-12 seconds. I figure that my TC needs an upgrade but not sure what to add because I am trying to figure out where my horses will end up with those two upgrades. Will it be around 420 with Edge and 550-575 with the nos? Also if I get that HP should I beef up the rear end (3.73)?

I got lots more questions but thats it for now.

Bringing the thread back to life for ya Dan

So why do you want to run Nos? Are you racing? Sledpulling?

Tranny upgrades will be needed if you're aiming for 550.

I don't know squat about your 3rd gen
On second thought, I really don't know squat about the 2nd gens either

I want to add the nos for 10-15 seconds for sled and also for goofing around with other trucks who roll smoke at me. I am still trying to get a true number for how much horse I can get back there. I am only getting 90 horse out of the Diablo, 10-15 out of other stuff.
I think the concensus on here is the Edge juice with attitude box. I also think I can get the big horse out of the NOS-I do have a lot of research to do to figure out orfice size and all that. But the main thing I am trying to find out is what upgrades do I need exactly to get the 500 or more horse to the rear of the truck.

Hi Dan,

I don't know how much you know about performance systems for these trucks. If your knowledge is limited, you may want to contact a performance builder that can build a "balanced system", for you.

Basically, if you add power you will probably be compromising other parts of the truck (turbo, torque converter, trans. & other parts). Many of us have added a performance box & found out the EGT's were so hot that they couldn't even use the power the box could make.

My Duramax buddy put 2 boxes on his truck along with guages & a K&N system ($3500.00) just so he was sure he could beat my stock Dodge. He, also, drove from Phoenix to Fullerton, CA. to have all this done. He promptly blew-up his mighty Allison trans. Now, he's turned his power down, as much as possible, to preserve the new trans.

You may want to talk to guys like Pier's Diesel & have them design a "usable" system for you. You will get what you need & eliminate all the experimentation.

Get a TST w/twins, EZ, Turbo, Injectors, ATS torque converter, and a well built tranny. I dont know what the rules where you are for sled pulling, but up in Indiana, Ohio, ect. no drugs are allowed. with the upgrades I listed you should be over or close to 500hp with no drugs.
