Some other considerations are what size tires will you be using and will you be changing gear ratios to compensate for increased tire size?......Ben

either 35's or 37's whatever fits best. doubt ill change gearing. mostly a play truck toy truck dont really tow or worry about mpg's.Mainly i just dont wanna have regrets or be stuck fixing junk all the time.

With 35" or 37" tires your performance will be noticeably limited...Since the truck is a playtoy anyway as you said, I think you'll be disappointed in the reduction in power...I did a similar project on a '98 Chevy 2500 and I was not happy with the stock gearing......Ben

My 35's are not bad at all and I just have my truck leveled. I have thought about 37's but read somewhere its about 200lbs more or so and I'm just not sold on them yet because of that reason, but to answer your original question I have had great luck with top gun Customz they will even help you mix and match for the best setup for you. Give them a call. But also in my opnion i think I'm going to just do a 4 inch.

Ok. I'm leveled now and It just look like 35's will fit. My 285's only clear by a few inches. The reason I want the lift if I have 18x9 wheel I just bought and need to get tire's for them but I'd like a 35 or bigger

When you talk about how performance will be noticeable limited, could you explain that to me a litter better? I've got 37's on my truck (on it when i bought it) and am just wondering.

Carli is expensive if your not going offroad, but I do have the carli set up which is 3" lift in front and 35" looked too small switched to 37" and they just right, so with a 6" 37"s might be too small. With the larger tires acceleration will suffer but cruising at highway speeds is better, using a programmer will help acceleration.

i would love to see some pictures and some more specs on the suspension setup you used. price, options, overall thoughts on it,and performance of the setup if you wouldnt mind, i have been really wanting to go to a 37 inch tire but i am so torn on where i want to go with my suspension, i don't off road much and if i do its not extreme, but i do, do a hell of a lot of dirt road driving with massive craters for bumps and lots of washboarding.

sorry to jack your thread my man.

Na it's ok it will probably help me.

Yes the Carli kits are nice but a bit pricy for me. And how bad is the performance loss with 35's or 37's? I run a Smarty jr on SW3 so that should do better than a stock truck but is it a huge difference. Sorry for my ignorance

Responded to firgod4 in PM, it is noticeable the difference between stock and larger size, before my clutch upgrade i was running smarty sr on 3 with 35s and wasnt too bad but slip the clutch everytime I wanted to pass someone, new clutch and sr on 8 felt like the power was back, but when I upgraded to the 37s slow acceleration. so around town 35s would be better but highway 37s are nice, can hold 75-80 running under 2000rpms.

Wow that would be nice. I run 75 at about 2200 but if I stay under 2000 I get alot better mpg.

Its really just a matter of preference on what you think is the best look as lift size to tire size. also if your going to run stock rims or not with the tires, 37s make 17" rims look very small, 35s are about right.

6" superlift here with 37's. I can still run 15.0 in the quarter mile at 4500' and an 8000 pounds vehicle weight so while I'm sure it could be better the loss in performance is a small consideration. Comparing these trucks to a 98 chevy is insulting and an apples to oranges comparison.
