555 drive presure / hp gain observation.
so, once again... school was in sesion after hours to disprove the internet myths...
vehical: 03 ram 2500 ho 6 sp . had a juice w/ attitude - ran hot- intermitant problems.
removed the edge junk, put in real gauges and a smarty jr.
first run we left the boost elbow in.... lvl 2 made 280 hp, boost was 34 psi, egt was 1150
2nd run, reinstalled stock boost elbow, made 293 hp, boost was 27psi, egt was 850
12-13 hp gain, almost 300 degree drop......
so...... who was it that was saying getting it up to 32 psi on a stock turbo was helpfull?
and yes, because i know it will be asked... multiple runs were done before/after. all layed right on top of each other.

A good ol' fashioned case of " No 2 trucks are the same" What works for me may not work for you. Pretty interesting though, you would think the opposite and get gains like MikeyB did.

back when i ran a stock turbo, i ran it with the wastgate disconnected completely. it was more responsive at light throttle, and built boost quicker. this i think allowed it to kind of stay ahead of the temps etc.
i run the same route constantly, theres a hill i would pull and make about 25 psi @ about 1200 steady speed, i reconnected the wastegate and boost droped about 1 psi, but temps droped to just below 1k
yes, no two trucks respond exactly the same, but every truck we've done this to on the dyno responded the same.
