Observation pulling my trailer w/ my 2003

Kinda weird here. Seems that whether I pull my toy hauler unloaded (~6500 lbs) or loaded (~9000 lbs) my truck pulls it the same. Does that seem right? That tells me that if I loaded 12K lbs back there I could pull it just as good? Keeping in mind I have an SO auto-47RE 4.10...I can pull just about any grade at 65 MPH's OD off. And 80 MPH + on the flats. <br> Is this just the nature of Diesels?
