5.9L Cummins 2003 ram3500 exhaust system

Hi, new here and recently converted from Ford to Dodge. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with a good dual exhaust system, K&N Filter and chip with the cummins diesel.. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Aboard Maverick, you can find many answers to your question in the 3rd gen engine and accessory forums. Lots of choices are offered - only depends on what flavor you like, how much you want to spend, and when does it stop .....?

Welcome!!!

Glad to see you made the right choice, from frauuuuud to dodge !!

Your best bet as a noobie is to search for the items/accessories that you are looking for. You can do that here: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/.../search.php?s=

There will be hours upon hours of readings and you can make your decisions from there. Good luck and ask away, there is a ton of great knowledge on this site.

I got an MBRP SS dual exhaust system from dodge-parts.com and love it. Sounds great, looks great, and was fairly inexpensive for stainless steel. Check 'em out. From time of order to door was about 4 days.

Hey Original Junior does your exhaust have a deeper throaty sound ? More like a gas big block? I've got a different muffler onmy stock exhaust and I've pretty much made up my mind that duals are the way to go. Post a picture if you can. I'm looking for more of a deeper grunty sound than just a single 4inch exhaust can give. Thanks

We have the Silverline T304 Polished SS systems in duals and the aFe Pro-Guard7 drop in filters as well and complete air intakes. For the chip, Edge EZ or Banks Six-Gun. Also don't forget the gauges first. Welcome to the site.

alltork, yes it is a deeper/throaty sound...especially when you get on it. Sorry, I don't have any pics. Need to get a digital camera soon. To be honest, I love my truck & I know everyone loves theirs, but the only truck I heard that was as loud as mine was one of our NC chapter members with a 5 incher. Now, it doesn't sound as loud as my 2nd gen at idle (of course ) but at WOT it does have it beat! Go with the duals, you won't be sorry. Fit and finish is real nice. And I love the dual pipes coming out behind the mud flaps of my dually. They angle down and out. Much like the pipes on my '67 Impala SS did. It just kind of balances the rear end out.

Yes, I think you really need the gauges. I wouldn't put any chip in my trucks without them.

You might want to checkout the recent thread on the DPPI exhaust, everyone that has one (including me) seem to be very happy. Deep and rumbly, but not obnoxious at light throttle.
