48RE performance advice
Please forgive the noobness of this post.
In my 06 CTD with a 48RE, I have an Edge Juice with Attitude. When I want to pass slow moving objects on the freeway (lets say from a rolling 55mph) I set the Edge to 3 and mash on the gas.
The truck starts to build power up to 2500 rpms, then it sits there for about 1-2 seconds (like its staying in the lower gear for too long), then the tranny shifts and the truck starts to take off like a rocket.
Are there any tricks to coaxing the 48RE for better shift points with rolling take offs? I know in my old 89 crapstang GT, I had to manually shift the auto trans from 1 to 3 and back to 1 to get the car to launch right from a stop making it use 1 2 then 3. Otherwise the dang POS ford would go from 1 to 3.

When I had the stock tranny, mine would do that too, what I did was just let up slightly on the pedal, just when it should shift, then it will shift then mash it again

Hey I just got the Edge Attitude and I think your problem is the way you have it set up. Now I am no genius at this but I took my truck out on the highway last night and played with the settings. Go into the menu and select Juice config then Low Boost adj(enter) another screen pops up change the setting to 5 then hit enter again. Then you have to back out hitting the menu button. You will get more smoke out this option also

Thanks for the advice but I have already setup the low boost adj as follows:
Stage 1 = 3
Stage 2 = 3
Stage 3 = 5
Stage 4 = 5
Stage 5 = 5
Still have the funky shift deal.

yea, like morkable said... i run CL exclusively now - just roll into it until you are on the brink of downshift then once you are past the kickdown point go WOT. Its all about learning your trucks habits
