48 re input shaft fit in 2002 dodge?

48 re input shaft fit in 2002 dodge?

i was wondering if the 48 re input shaft out of my 03 will fit in a 2002 47re? also is the 48 input shaft stronger than the 47? thanks

The 48RE shaft is stronger than the 47. In a 47 I think you have to use the 48RE TC also but not positive. Maybe a few other parts as well.

I'm interested in this too. I have been contemplating a billet shaft. As an alternative, I thought I might just put in an input shaft out of a later model in my truck. I called the local Chrysler dealership and they told me that the input shaft and hub out of a 1998 12-valve and a 2006 48RE were the same part number. That to me says there is no difference in them. But, if they are not the same can someone elaborate on what the difference is?
