4000 Rpm question?

All right I know these trucks were not desighned to push 4000Rpms but if you have the mods that I have how safe is it to run 4000Rpms on the track? Will it shorten the life of the motor extremly? I really do not need to rebuild another motor this one is all ready putting me in the poor house. Also how much of advantage is it to be able to run 4000Rpms over 3600 Rpms sled pulling. My motor sounds alot different then my brothers mtor when you slowly bring the revs up from idle. Mine seems to rattle alot more then his does. Kinda sounds like a bearing spinning in a gas mtor but no nearly as bad? Ever since this thing blew up the first time I am paranoid by every little thing it does. I haven't been running any adative in awhile wondering if it is just the injectors knocking a bit?

IMHO I don't think 4,000rpm's is going to hurt your truck at all. A pull lasts what a max of 20 seconds? Your motor is always under a load too its not like free revving it. There is 12 valves that spin 5,000. I would turn mine 4,500 if they had a tune for it, but thats just me. Not sure on your rattle, could be more timng possibly? How did you blow the first engine up?

If your that worried about it don't do it.

The only thing I see that can go wrong is dropping a valve which is unlikely but still possible.

First engine dropped an injector. It's not that I am worried about it just concerned. It's not gonna stop me from pulling just wanting to get advice on it. I seriously doubt that these trucks will pull 4000 rpms with a sled behind them.

I have done this many times now playing around on my G-tech.....personally From what I understand the marine versions of these engines are designed too run 3500-3700 rpms. The only mechanical differences is the valvetrain....so with the upgraded valvetrain 3500-3700 is definatly safe....so i cant see too much problem with 3800-4000.

Sheese....4K on a Cummins? Thats wild. My 05' must have had a factory rwev limiter that caused it to essentially flutter or almost cut out at 3K....Since I installed my Edge juice at level 3 it revs out strong to about 3K without any shudder, stutter or electro-cut-out and then shifts....4K would be wild.

I know at 3700 it sounds pretty wild as it is can't imagine 4000Rpms. Shaun has told me to go ahead and get a Smarty put Matt still has a bad taste in his mouth. Just hope if I have a problem it's easy to get a hold of Bob. Is the TNT R Revolution out yet? I would really like to get that.

It is not out yet still being beta tested but when you get it you will love it. The adjustability is exellent.
