305/555 Question ????

Okay, I think I'm ready to purchase a performance box. And yes I have done plenty of reading. (thanks for all the good info).

I'm thinking about getting the Juice with attitude or wait till Quad comes out with their monitor and buy the xzillaraider.

I'm looking into those boxes because I like the idea of having the gauges and all in one package.

Now my question. My truck already has a 4 inch exhaust (stock) and I opened the air filter box. Is this sufficient or do I need to upgrade before the box.

Hate to break it to ya but from the turbo to the muff is 3-1/2". Only the tail pipe is 4".
TST also has gauges

Those bastards and I thought I had a 4" exhaust, oh well. Does this mean I need to upgrade my exhaust????

With just one box, your down pipe will probably be fine. However if you plan on more performance accessories, then a 4" downpipe would be suggested.

flyfish70, I see you have pm's disabled Anyway I have the 305/555 with exhaust/intake and xzillaraider. Up to the 100hp setting, egt's are very manageable if you do not plan on additional power upgrades. Quad's monitor just came out I believe - see the other thread. I may be going to a hot juice, dtt, injectors, and twins - so if you decide to allow pm's, shoot me one if you are interested in my xzillaraider

It would be a good idea to upgrade the exhaust to a free flowing 4" with Aeroturbine right on the down pipe and a Scotty RA3 for the air intake.

Don't forget to upgrade the cast elbow on the turbo while doing the exhaust mods...

I have the 305/555 engine with a xzillaraider 100 hp box. I have not upgraded exhaust but did mod the factory airbox. I rarely run on the 100 hp setting as I don't need the hp empty and I tow with the box set on 60 hp. EGT's are fine. So to answer your question the other upgrades are not necessary.
