2006 Crank but does not start
2006 Crank but does not start
My '06 was acting up, fuel economy was down and I could see some black smoke more often. My truck only had 133k miles and the engine lost power about 2 miles from home. I limped it home and pulled the codes. P2146 and P0203. Injector bank A open and Injector 3 open. I checked the resistance on Injector 3 and is was 5.6 ohms. I replaced just the solenoid, and went to start the engine and crank by no start. I scanned the fuel rail psi and it was 5000psi with just the start motor. I get no white smoke out the exhaust. So could my ECM be bad or another sensor? The tach is active and the scanner picks up active data from the ECM. Is there anything specific sensor wise that I need to check? The lift pump is pushing fuel and the fuel rail seems to be building pressure. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks..
When I replaced the solenoid, I cleared the codes and none have returned. I have realized that the fuel pressure I was looking at on the scanner was the recommended and not actual. The actual is around 1040 psi. I believe that is too low. I've pulled the FCA plug to make the cp3 go max and nothing happened, still 1040 psi, on the scanner...I blocked off the relief valve, still 1040 psi... the only thing I haven't been able to do is disconnect each injector and block off the port to see if an injector is returning the fuel...saw that on a Deboss garage video...

Stupid suggestions from my end. Check your fuel filter and your lift pump. There is a chance you don’t have a decent primary fuel supply, in which case the co3 has nothing to build
