Question 2004 question

Hey i have a 2004 dodge with the 5.9L and there are no mods done to the truck yet. the printout i got when i ran the vin number and it says that i have the HO cummins motor. now im not sure how i find out if i have the 2004 or i see that some people call it a 2004.5 i dont know the differnce if some one could tell me it would be a big help.

Second, i have the automatic trans in the truck with a 3.73 axle ratio i get arround 17-22 mpg what are some basic mods that i can do to gain some mileage and not damage my transmission. i really dont pull with the truck so i know i never work it to its full potential.

yes it is an 04.5 as far has mpg i would do an air intake, ans a small milage tuner that won't hurt anything

the milage max is good, as with air intakes its personal preferance. i went with a K&N and have had no problems at all. alot of people will bash the K&N. I would go with either K&N or AFE. Also get a straight through muffler or cut it out like i did.
