2 or 3 gauges on the "A" pillar?
2 or 3 gauges on the "A" pillar?
Decided to get gauges (probably Autometer) and I want them on the "A" pillar. Going to use a trans. temp. and pyrometer gauge for sure. I would like to include a boost gauge but I'm wondering if 3 gauges on the pillar are too much of a distraction when driving.
Is the boost gauge really that important?
Thanks.

I had a three pod on my 01 I always felt like I was looking around the gauges on the corners
and when the truck bounced at night the gauge lights kinda bugged me out of the corner of my eye, so I would dim the lights so it was not so bad.
After test driving a used truck with gauges by the overhead console I was sold!! I love console mount
plus you get to keep your grab handle!!
so to answer your question.... Yes I would get a boost gauge with your other two gauges. If your worried about the A-pillar mount you should look at the overhead console mount.
In the End it's all preference, lots of guys like the pod's running down the
A pillar. Some report that the overhead mount is hard to get it to stay stuck to the window also.
I know it's a Ford but it's the only pic I could find real quick!

If I was going to run 3 gauges, I would get an SRT-10 pillar (Grab handle with one gauge) and put the other 2 over the steering column. But I don't really find the 3 on the pillar that distractive. The A-pillar on our trucks is huge anyways...
I have the over head 3-pod. I only have the pyro in it now. It looks realy good, but I think the pilar set-up is easier to look at when driving. But I dont wantt o lose the grab handle either.
That is exactly how i would do it, if i didnt have em on the pillar. But i dont find them in the way on the pillar.

they are a distraction for the first couple days. I hardly ever look at my gauges anymore though. I look at my trans temp gauge every once in a while and then after that im not really looking at them. At the track i look at my EGT on the Pillar and the Attitude monitor. thats about it. No distraction while driving though. The first couple days you just stare at them because they are cool and you want to see what your truck is doing, but after a couple days you know whats going on and dont really care anymore
