17" Drag radials / tire ideas for 2wd
I'm looking for some ideas on 17" Drag radials or other tires for my wife's 2wd Mega Cab. She is having to leave at idle & walk it wayyyy out to put down any kind of pass. Thanks for any help!!

i dont know how much you will gain with drag radials, even with just a smarty you are still going to be able to roast the tires with any kind of boosted launch.
I thought about going to radials too to try and see if 2wd would improve my times, but came to the conclusion that its just not worth the money.
Just my .02

Thanks for the info. I plan on dropping the rear around 1" & Santa is bringing her a set of Cal Trac traction bars. Just need the tire setup now. I'm going crazy trying to find something for this truck & would be very very happy with a 1.99 60' time. That alone would put us were we want to be with this truck.

I think in this one case of mega cab plus 2wd, you'd net faster ET's by adding ballast. Maybe some sort of custom rear bumper with brackets for lead suitcase weights or something.
How low are you going on the air pressure? I've read that many guys are running in the low 20 psi range and having great traction with zero wheel inside tire slippage.
Are you guys running in the water box before you run? I find it amazing that you have more traction on the street than at the track. I think the water box will hurt your traction if you don't get the tires really warm= burn off 50 bucks worth of rubber because the street tread picks up water too easily. I can blow off my rear tires in 4th gear on the street now that the weather has cooled off. At the track, third gears still keeps traction for the most part in 2wd. Maybe your local track does poor prep and or traction but i noticed a big traction difference here in Las Vegas between street and strip.

She go's around the water at the track & we've aired down to around 26 psi at times. Anything lower has shown no gains with our Toyo's. With a real good track prep she's gone some 2.20 60' leaving just off idle. Never anything close to a boosted launch yet.
