04.5 Exhaust size?

I have searched and found two different sizes listed. What size is the exhaust? Would it do any good to just cut out the muffler and leave the cat? How loud will it be that way, and how loud with no cat or muffler? Anyone have any sound clips? Thanks

4" exhaust. Some leave the cat which does sound good. Straight is too loud. I used a 41" Donaldson with no cat.

Its a great setup.. .thou the EB was annoying when idling and walking around the truck, so I put a MC resonator on.. now its perfect.

OK so it sounds better with no cat and a 41" Donaldson. Where do I get that at? Does it sound better than if it was no muffler and a cat? Which one will perfrom better. Thanks again guys!

It will flow and sound (IMHO) the best without the cat and with the 40" Donaldson. And it smells better too.

I got mine here

No Problem...but just going off of the thread title if you have an 04.5 stock from Dodge it did not come with an exhaust brake.

I didn't hink so, but someone had mentioned one. I think I am going to try the Donaldson and no cat, I would love stacks, but with a toolbox and pulling a white enclosed it may not be a good idea. Thanks for the help
