You can get the Smarty from the DTR store. "Shop DTR" at the top of the page. Larry will take care of you. As stated the turbo has bigger impeller and housing ,flows more air and usually decent priced when you run across them. Intakes help no doubt, but for a stock truck, the money could be better spent elsewhere.

Is the same true for an 04? (moving to an 04.5 turbo?) Will the banks big head help on either the 04 or 04.5 turbos?

What has to be done to change the wastegate from electronic to mechanical? I can get a low mileage '06 turbo for cheap.

yes, same for 03 and 04. With an adjustable elbow, you can get 45psi ( I would stay at around 40psi) no problem. I really dont see the need for the Banks actuator.

need a plug for where the electronic actuator goes. Tap that plug for 1/8NPT, install a boost elbow and hook up the hose to the actuator. The cast elbow on the turbo will either require using a later model downpipe (recommended) or you have to swap the elbow off of your current turbo.

there is also a small bleed hole that you have to plug. I used a self-tapping screw coated in silicone to make sure it sealed.

FWIW, this mod netted 50hp and 100lb/ft on my truck with no other changes.
