03 Exhaust elbow question

I am looking at the II SPS 62, and I see I need an exhaust elbow from a 04.5 or newer truck. The elbows on the 04.5 and up are 4" in and 4" out and the elbow on my 03 is 4" in and 3.5" out, correct? When I replaced my exhaust I removed all 3.5" pipe and replaced it with 4". The downpipe is 4" up to an inch or so of the flange where it goes to 3.5" to clamp to the exhaust elbow. So if the inlet on the elbow is the same (4") shouldn't the 6280 bolt up to my stock exhaust elbow? Will the 6 or 8 inches of 3.5" exhaust really effect the performance of the 6280? Or is there something else that I am missing here.

Bruce

Since nobody posted then it should bolt right up and I shouldn't have any problems performance wise from the turbo leaving the 3.5" section on my truck.

You will be wasting your time putting that nice turbo on there and choking it down to 3.5". I'm not sure but maybe it will cause issues with the turbo if it can't flow properly.......

I plan to change mine of my factory turbo just so I don't have that lil extra restriction. Who knows if it will help EGTs or power but I know it will flow better so why not replace it.

you can buy the elbow from the dealership, I think mine was $60 or so

I agree, go with the 4", instead of the 3.5

hope this helps

I'm going to put the 4" elbow and down pipe on it since I will be right there when I replace the turbo. I really don't want to have to do it twice or chance messing up the new turbo. Thanks for the responses.
