Hey guys. Anyone had the electronic 4x4 transfer case apart? It was only shifting when I was stopped now the indicator only blinks. If I'm sitting still I can hear the slide sliding. How are the forks attached? Any ideas on the cause?

 

Will it shift into 4x4 with the truck rolling slowly?

 

Use too. Up to say 5 mph or so. Now its not doing anything

 

And. We are talking about 4hi or 4 lock as its labled. Not 4 low

Took a peek at mine today and 4 hi engages really quick. (like 1 second, slight clunk) going into 4 low takes a few seconds. Does it continue to flash after it tries to shift?

 

If I'm going under 7 or so it. Will shift wuithin firsr 5 flashes. Anything over 10 mph and no shift. Per owners manual and a 2004 service manual I'm meeting all the user controllerable variables. Hence my frusteration. Dealker says there is no programing that can change it. Seems to be something that they sgould be able to tell me. Sorry for typos. Stupid blAckberry

Uopdate. So when I shift it sounds like a manual shifting and grinding gears. Whhat would cause that?

 

Worn tires can cause a difference in ratio that can result in binding of the 4 wheel drive components.
