you have to be careful on the turns depending how the neck is set up. best thing to do is to take it and see.

If the trailer can work with a short bed truck you should be fine

One of the main reasons I got my Crew Cab Long Bed. It can be done with the mega and short bed, but you will have to be diligent and prepare for and watch every single turn.

I have towed two different 5er's with my Mega Cab. Both have had extended pin boxes installed on them and I use a slider hitch also. The only time I engage the slider is when I back up into my drive way and when we are in the campgrounds. When I am towing the 5er on city streets and the highway I do not need to engage the slider hitch. There is enough clearance to make the turns with the 5er in the towed position.
Another option that will work if you are concerned is a pullright hitch. These automatically slide back as you maneuver without you having to disengaging the locking lever.

I wouldn't worry about a short box if it's a gooseneck trailer. You have to turn very sharp to have an issue. I really don't notice more issues when I pull my goosneck with my shortbox compared to my longbox. Backing up and turning VERY sharp, I could see an issue.
