Question Wife's Avenger RT needed service today...drove a 6.7

Man oh man why did I drive that 07 QC 6.7? I absolutly love the 6 spd auto tranny!!!!
I took it out for a 20 mile cruise (salesman said take anyone you want) Love the power, the exhaust braking and the new looking interior (compared to my 05)
MAM OH MAN what have I done. Wife said go ahead and get it if you want (God do I love her)
The problem is my current 05 has LineX,Truxedo bed cover,Gauges,Quadzilla std. box and 8' Boss plow.
I could always have the plow frame changed over and have the lineX applied but I still love my 05! (Maybe I can keep my 05 and still get the 07) Just kidding on the last part.
We went to pick up her car and went in to talk to the salesman and before I knew it we were talking about an 08 QC in Inferno red (would almost match my 1999 Champion Bass boat) with Nav,and a BUNCH of options. They offered me 27 for my 05 with 4500 rebate I could drive the 08 for 17K.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?????

BUY BUY BUY!!!!

If you are into modding, i would stick with the 5.9 unless you can wait a while til more mods are available. However if you like the power it has stock, then i would jump on it like i did!

RiddlerLS1, Do you have any pictures of your truck? It sounds like the one we were thinking of. I only saw a 3500 single cab duely in that color but havnt seen a QC single wheel in the inferno red.

Thanks!
here is my boat for color comparisons. My boat is more burgundy but still would look good.

Does yours have the power rear slider? That is so cool! I think my slider has been opened a half a dozen times as its quit a reach to open in from the front seat.

Jump on it (but I'm partial). That boat would sure look nice behind the Inferno Red. Besides, your 05' isn't that modded now so you wouldn't be missing much. Take off your bed cover and have them toss in the LineX for their cost and call it a deal.

I was in the same boat (no pun intended) after driving my friends 6.7. I decided to hang onto my 04.5 because it's been a great truck and buying a new one would be rolling the dice when I did't need to. Plus, I don't want to buy a new truck knowing a redesign is coming very soon.

Does the new truck have a lot more options? I suppose 27k isn't to bad of a price for the '05, but 17K more for a truck only 2 years newer? I'd have a hard time with that. By the time you get it linex'd and the plow installed, you'll be closer to 18k. That is a lot of depreciation, almost 9k a year. I'm sorry to say, I wouldn't go for it, but it's your money and it sounds like you've got a jewel of a wife and it is a beautiful truck. It would make a nice Christmas present.

If you like your truck you should be very careful.I traded in my 04 2500 six speed on one of these new trucks . I will give you the pros and cons and hopefully it will help you. First the pros the power and the auto 6 man this thing will out run my 04 with the bully dog programer on the highest setting, and the trans is very smooth and the shift points are perfect . The e brake is a nice touch to.Now for the cons the big one for me is the fuel milage, man i went frome 14-17 pulling my mower traler and city combined to9.8 to 13.5 both trucks hand calculated. Then thiers the trips to the dealer -old one 2 in 48000 miles - new one 6 in 8000 miles then that big fancy filter under the truck is only under warrenty til 50000 miles why is this, I bet it's not cheap . The shocks on this truck are junk although it's a mega cab and the 04 is a quad,so it's robably heavier, the body roll is a lot worse. I realy do like the truck, how ever the fuel milage loss is a bad dealfor us consumers. it's nice to be saving the planet but it's costing a fortune.
