Why no SRW Mega in '07.

Wife just bought a new car seat for our 10 month old and the thing barely fits in the back of my QC. Now I need to get a new truck unless the passenger wants to sit on the front dash. I was looking at the new Mega with the 6.7L and noticed I can't get the 3500 in a SRW Mega. Here in MN our license tabs are cheaper by quite a bit if you have a 1-ton or larger. What gives?

if you are looking at the dodge web site it does not "show" a SRW version...but I am almost 100% sure you can still get it in a 3500 SRW...

BTW I sold my 01 and got my mega for the same reason
I never thought I would buy a truck based on how a car seat fits in it!!

Put the car seat in the middle of the back seat where it belongs and then you don't have to worry about the front passenger.

I have 3 kids all 3 have gone through car seats in either the 02 or the 06 QC's with out any problems? Front facing, Rear facing, Booster.

in my 01 my boys feet rested on the center console in the middle, me and my wife are tall and don't like to eat the dash..those 2nd gens are tight with kids and the quad cabs are not much bigger.
I had test drove a long bed QC cause I LOVE them I knew we would have two kids in cars seats at once and when I test drove the QC with my 2 year old he had his feet plastered against this brand new trucks back seat
I was kinda bugged so I thought I would drive the MC long story short you see what I bought!!!!and I don't like short beds but the cab was worth it

The 2nd Gen I understand...Heck we had to work with a 93GT and a 99GT before the 02QC, but the 3rd gens have plenty of room IMO for a car seat if put in the middle.

Hey Steel, I know I can get by but I think a Mega would be way more comfortable. Might not be a good reason to buy a new truck, but I finally have a reason. Now back to my original question, why no SRW mega 3500.

I know they are out there 'cause I have seen them. It's probably just a web site glitch.

I just researched my local dealers and all of them are DRW, even if the pic shows a SRW, when you click to see the window sticker it lists it as DRW?

Maybe they discontinued it for the 6.7 at least for this year?

Just a curiosity question...

Would the GVW be lower on the 3500MC SRW than the 2500QC?

From the brochure I have it looks like the 2500MC takes a 550# hit on towing and payload compared to its 2500QC cousin. Not sure what the difference is between the 3500 and the 2500. Looking at the brochure they give SRW and DRW towing weights for a 3500 Mega. Now why can't I find one?

The 3500 SRW's do exist.

Here's one {mine}. The order code for the Single Rear Wheel Group is AR9.

6.7L even. nada and dodge websites are both wrong then. Did you order it or was it off a lot. I have done a dealer search in the twin cities and haven't seen one yet on a dealer lot.

i ain't got no kiddies in car seats,

and definitely don't need a one ton,

but the Mega is great for hauling people: teenagers from church, little old ladies with MASSIVE purses from church, little MadKids, just anyone.

everyone who sees my truck has a fit about how good it would fit their needs,

a 06 SRW 4x2 mega one ton,

they say it's perfect, all the weight & people capability,
none of the wide fenders of a DRW,
and none of the 4x4 to eat up gas MPG.

they say no more often than they tow heavy, a SRW is all they really need

i guess. i would be happier if the Bank won't so proud of it. [dummy}
