I'll try to find time tomorrow to have a look see at my exhaust tomorrow. quite possibly the best advice I can give you is to read a post in the high performance and accessories section written by Blake Clark.

find the link to it here: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...t-t273345.html

it is your best bet to help answer the questions at to what may be what, the 4th gen 6.7s are the same exhaust so digging around in there cant hurt haha

Thank you for the help. Took the truck back to the shop again today to see if there were any faults showing up yet. The answer to that would be no. But, once again, the truck ran fine while hooked up for diagnostics. Disconnected diagnostics, drove it again and it started acting up. Re-connected it and it ran fine, no faults. Go figure.

It makes me wonder a little bit, but that's nothing new, I get confused easy most times, what type of diagnostic tool are they hooking up to it?

The best I can tell you is it's an OBDll scanner that is capable of doing all kinds of diagnostics on the truck. He was a service tech for a local Dodge dealer that started his own business. Definitely not shade tree type of equipment. Sorry, that's the best I can tell you.

All I can think of is to tell you that in the grand scheme of things a tuner should fix most of, if not all of the issues for you, the best thing I can tell you is to do your homework with them, if you go the smarty route there are guys on here who have the appropriate tunes to load into it to fix it, if you go the H&S mini maxx route then I have the tunes you would need and could help you through the reflash process, although it is nice and simple process, either way be prepared to spend between 600 and a grand to get the tuner........... sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear

Yeah, I know it isn't going to be a "cheap" process. I'm going to try to see if I can get by with a "cheap" scanner/reader/whatever, to get it to run right on a regular basis while saving up to do what I want to do to this truck the right way. When I was racing, it was a "bogus, but functional" world. This truck I plan on keeping longer than any vehicle I have previously owned. That in itself should say how happy I am with the Dodge/Cummins mix. It had and still does have power, some of the best fuel mileage I've gotten from a truck, and by some standards it's not even that great. But, I know it has potential for even better. All of you input has been very much appreciated.

I did come up with another question yesterday when I crawled under the truck again. I am speculating there is no DPF sensor on the truck. This is based off where Dodge told me to look, and what I've seen on pics on here. I also gather that I need to have a sensor still plugged in, even if the hoses are disconnected, or something else plugged in in it's place?

I'm assuming your talking about the pressure differential sensor beside the trans?

if the deletes were done right you shouldn't need anything hooked up........

Ok, Dodge says there is a flash for my ECM but we opted to NOT do it because with the exhaust mods it MAY make it worse. They also said it running like it is, won't really hurt anything, so my stress level went down a LOT. Yes, I know it's not how I want it running, and not how it will be when I'm done. I'm just happy I can still drive my truck. The next plan of attack will be to get a tuner. One question with that, do I also do an EGR delete? Thank you for your time.

for the added $100 you might as well, cummins has had a few too many EGR cooler failures for me to have been comfortable leaving it on.....

On the upside for a change, now that the weather is warming up into the 70s, my truck is running a lot better. NOT perfect, but, better. MAYBE that is why it took so long for it to start acting up to begin with. Just a thought(?) And yes, I'm still working toward a tuner and other mods, I just like to know what issues are caused by even if I can resolve them with a tuner. I'm weird like that.
