Not all is a full group 4 synthetic. Some is a Group three. There is a difference.First clue is price. That's not always a good indicator as of the high price of over the counter at the dealer but the difference of this say Amsoil or maybe this Valvoline(has anyone priced it yet) and the Walmart brand etc.Now the term FULL Synthetic can also be misleading. The Valoline site says MEETS Atf+4 specs. The Amsoil site says EXCEEDS Atf+4 specs.

Its not? Thought I'd read posts about the low price of it compared to Dealer or? In fact thought I'd read that many times. What are the estimated prices of Dealer,Walmart,Valvoline,Amsoil etc. Also I bet you'll find answers to the group three or four from them direct or www.bobistheoilguy.com They REALLY get into the lube discussions.

The Mopar at walmart was $5.49/qt

The Valvoline at O'Reily's was $5.34/qt

Those are the only 2 I have seen on the shelf... I don't remember what I was charged when the dealer did my first service. And I bought the Mopar ATF +4 from the dealer the first time I did the service myself and I don't remember what I paid /qt... I bought all my fluids from the dealer (ATF +4 for Trans and x'fer case, Synthetic Axel oil 75w...) and trans filter and axel gaskets... and the total was around $300... Which I thought was a bit high, but I didn't have a reference since it was my first time. I was also Overly concerned with puting in what the dealer put in, that way I knew I was putting in good fluids...

Now... I'm all about saving money!!!

Was the brand at Wal Mart Mopar? Same as the dealer or in Wal Mart Super Tech packaging?

Mopar ATF+4 is not a full group IV synthetic, it's made from group III crude oil base stock, that is why you can buy it at Walmart for $5.00 a qt.

I've used the Valvoline stuff the last 2 times I've change the fluid. Seems to be working fine as far as I can tell. I got mine at auto zone for 4.95/qt.

It was in the same Mopar Packaging as the fluid I bought from Dodge...

I did not see any Super Tech ATF+4...

I went with the Valvoline... figured it was slightly cheaper. Listed as a full synthetic. and I already use the Valvoline Premium Blue in the engine... So what the heck, All Valvoline all the way....

Seems to be doing fine...

The manual says 4 qts... but I put 4 qts and it was barely at the bottom of the dip stick. I put another quart in and now I am at the bottom of the low line. Is this correct? 5 quarts in... need to put in another quart... So 6 quarts in the tranny when the manual states it's supposed to have 4 quart capacity.

Sound right to you guys?
