$5.34 @ O'Reily's...
I ran the enging for about 10 min in Neutral and checked it... Then before adding the 5th quart I drove it about 10 miles. I got it to opperating temp ~175 degrees... I usually run about 184 degrees when driving all day. Do I figured that was close enough. Then checked it in Neutral.
Any Ideas why the manual would say 4 quarts when I'm running 6?

It could be the drain down amount. The longer you sit the more oil that drains. I used 7 quarts on my last filter change but I stopped for lunch with it open. If you do the job in 5 minutes you may only need 4 quarts.
Also below is the oil level expansion chart to show the SIGNIFICANT difference in cold and warm oil when doing level checks.

When I had mine done Dodge told me it would only take 4 qts and yet it took 6.5 qts to get it back to full at hot temp.
Hounddog,
You are correct that Mopar ATF+4 is made from group III crude oil base stock. I sure wish it was illegal for them to call group III fluids made from crude oil as synthetic.

You can thank the CASTROL folks for that.Mobil sued them over that issue a number of years back and lost. That wording on not full synthics started when Castrol introduced Syntec oils. Its a nomenaclature thing but legal.

Back when Syntec came out and the OTHER REAL synthetic oil manufactures started early on to do battle over the wording Amsoil was heading to the lawsuit arena with Castrol. Before they could get there Mobil tied up with them. Then lost. This was according to a from the presidents desk article I read in the Amsoil monthly mag way back when.
