Train Shipping route to the East Coast?

Hello all!

I ordered my Mega Cab 4x4 on 3/27 from a dealer here in Northeastern, Pa.

They mentioned that the beast would would take ~ 1 month to build, then a week or two to get to California. Then 1 month or so to get to Maryland area via boat.
Still no build number as of last week....

I've been trolling here for a few months and never came across info about the long boat ride to the East coast.

Any info would be appriciated.

Oh...
White Mega Cab, 4x4, Laramie.
Waiting impatiently!!

Thanks for the wealth of info and awesome forum!

Take care
Keith

I ordered mine on 4/3 and it has been built and shipped. I was at the dealer today, I stop in about twice a week, and they showed me that it was slated to be at there door on 5/23. I ordered a QC though and it is comming out of mexico and going to Newark, NJ then on a train to northern NY and then down to me in Hyde park. But to answer your question it was finished on 4/22 and so the ship time should be a month. I hope that it being finished on Sat will not hurt the relibilty.

mine took 11 weeks to get here from the day I ordered it, ( January 26th ). It was on a train car for about 10 days. It sat in storage for most of the time in a " ready to ship " status. It took only 3 weeks to actually build the vehicle. I haven't heard of trucks being delivered by boat over here, cause they have a pretty etensive rail network from Mexico to anywhere in North America. It would seem like a huge waste of fuel to rail a truck to CA, stick it on a boat, drive it through the panama canal to get to you in PA. But you never know....

If it's built then it has a VIN #. Have your dealership print you out a progress
sheet. It will tell you the dates and progress locations of the truck.

Mine sat for two weeks in processing, then the long train trip from Texas to
Jersey and then to East Brookfield, Ma. where I guess the main distribution
point for the S.E. is. Then it sat for another week. It gets aggravating but
believe me it was well worth the wait.

Thanks for all the responses. Much better than my dealer!
I guess I have to stop by and harrass them...

Nice to know they may be BS'ing aboutthe shipping...

All I could think is that the truck will have to endure a salt brine spray.
I figured that was my job.. LOL! ..Living in the Rust Belt!

Thanks again!

Actually, I think they have to endure the slow boat from China. At least that is what I am claiming. My bilstein shocks are also on the slow boat from China. Maybe I'll get my shocks the same time you will get your truck.
