Strait piped 6.7

I have had a lot of people interested in my 6.7 strait pipe project so here is what I have found out so far.
Yes It can be done but, it those 2 codes dpf soot accumalation and dpf system performance, and the over head moniter reads cat full service required. Which that has derated the hp and the torque on the truck so the exhaust aftertreatment system is not harmed. I am not quite sure how much it derated the truck, but I am going to get it dynoed again to see what I have loss in power. No it is not loud at all, at higher rpms like 2800 is when it is thw loudest and which is not very loud. It makes the same sound as the 5.9 at idle but when driving it is nothing like the 5.9. I did notice an increase in power at first before it threw the codes. The mpg have seemed to be the same, if not a little bit lower by maybe .5 . I am not the only one that has tried it. The other truck which is the same as mine execpt he has not had any of the flash updates and he is not throwing any codes and everything is all right on that truck. But any truck you buy today has the flash updates. I have heard that other companies are working on it but cant get past the sensors. Most of them are only doing dpf back systems because it is a $10000 fine for taking all of it out. I hope I have answered all of your questions if not let me know

Just read an interesting article in the August issue of 8-Lug mag. They replaced the exhaust on a new '07 Duramax witha turbo back system from RBP. The system included a Eliminator programmer to get around the missing DPF. I really don't know a whole lot about the Duromax and the computer/sensors that it uses, but I would think that it works on the same principle that the Cummins does. I do know that the regen is different, using increased RPM's instead of additional injector pulse. It should give hope to those wanting to remove the DPF on there Cummins, of course for off road use only. I don't think I would do it myself, but thought the news might help others or give them hope.

KMKDiesel, would you look at my post (No emissions Idea's) and tell me what you think? Let me know if you did something like that to your truck please.

The Cummins software is much more dificult to crack than the Duramax

Mine is straight piped now and all I did was unplug the sensors and left them in the pipe the dpf is on so I have no sensors in my staight pipe I get one code like p2225 or something like that but it still runs fine and my overhead says nothing about the catalyst being full.

Can you tell a big difference between having them straight piped versus stock? If you were running a chip I could see cutting it, but I'm just talking stock is it really worth it?
