side wall strenght

Im about to buy some BFG mud-terrain ta/km2's, they are for the truck in my sig. I was wondering it the 3000lbs of load range on the 35's will be sufficiant for me. I rarely ever tow, just wondering if i will get at least 40,000 miles

thanks,

Dayton

All I can say is what every tire you buy make sure its not a 2 ply side wall I was that they made one and would put it on 3/4 ton truck. I then saw 3 ply side wall tire and was told well the 3 plys are better then the 4 plys were a few year a go

I don't know how many miles you could expect on the km2's. On the standard mt's you can expect good mileage. I put them on my friends 1 ton and he took them off with 85000 and still had 20% remaining. That is an exception though, but they do get good mileage. I don't believe you would see anything near that on the km2's.

Are they D rated or E rated? If so, and you do not tow much, then you are fine.

If you tow more, I would lean towards the E rating. Yes, I know the weight ratings are the same, however, sidewall flex on an E rated tire are less than on a D. Less flex equals safer towing, less heat generation in the tire.
