Service required see dealer now

I have a 08 dodge with 6.7, fully deleted. Every now and again the message, service required see dealer now. I have a smarty that I use to look for codes, never any. I delete codes anyway, and it goes away sometimes for months. I've done the oil change and ccv turn offs, but it won't stop coming back. Does anybody know if there is a way to analyze what is triggering this.

I have an 07.5 that I have been fighting the same issue with. I have noticed that it would happen when I would have to wait to start it on cold mornings. My batteries are getting weak and I think when there was a bigger draw on the batteries there wasn't enough juice to keep the computer happy. When I would get the message I would notice that my odometer would also default to the total mileage instead of the trip and my fog lights wouldn't be on when I turned my lights on. If I remembered to plug the truck in at night or it was warm enough that I didn't have to wait for the heater to start the truck I have had no issues. So as far as I can tell it's caused by my batteries starting to go bad.

Kieguy, I wish changing the batts. would solve prob for me, something I already did. Had a weak batt., but remember to replace both, as this keeps everything even. Hope one day to solve this prob. Thanks for ur reply

I just started with the same message yesterday, after over a year or so with the full deletes using the RACEME tuner, ( I think that was the post EPA interference version of the smarty) on my 2009 6.7. The RACEME website FAQ has a post about the fuel pressure limiting valve leaking and tricking the ECM into thinking it was getting a DPF full code. My batteries are also about four years old but I have had no issues with voltage to date. Have you guys ever heard of the fuel pressure being the culprit? Thanks for the info on the batteries as well.

The "service required" message has been associated with low fuel pressure. Now whether it's the lift pump, clogged filter, cp3, leaking injectors, frpv or ??? is a good question.
It also comes in at the egr cleaning/ccv interval so I would try the ccv reset first.

On the Raceme site it says it could also cause the dpf full/see dealer message too but I can't confirm this.
