I think the fuel is the same. It is dyed red so the DOT guys know it's OFF ROAD Fuel. Off road fuel is not taxed and they do that to keep regular people from running it just to keep from paying the taxes... I think that if your friend gets caught running it in his daily driver that there is a hefty fine...

They did a news special here a few weeks ago when prices were at their high point. The news crew was with the fuel police at a roadblock and they were dipping all the diesel trucks. I think that any truck caught with dyed fuel got a $3500 or $4500 dollar fine. Two concrete trucks from the same company got hit and both drivers said they just put the fuel in that the company told them to use....

As long as he is off road only, and it is ULSD. If it is LSD, it will clog the DPF quick, fast, and in a hurry. Other bad stuff may happen.

If he drives it on the road at all, even after a few tanks of regular fuel, it is still dectable.

Tell him to remove some stuff from the truck so he won't have to worry about that.

how bout the fuel lines and injectors, will the red mess up any of that? i told him about all the taxin stuff and the laws. he is just worried about his engine. he aint on the roads all that much. What all do you have to do to the DPF? just cut it out and replace it with strait pipe or what? Can you just strip it out? Is there any electronic sensors or anything you have to go around? Does it void waranty?

Thanks

He doesn't think it is.I'd find out if it is or isn't.Yes removal of emission equipment hinders/voids warranties.

Removal of emission equipment violates federal laws, not to mention demolishes warranties.

Angry Removal of smog crap

Yeh for a govt that doesnt want to be dependant on foreign oil they sure do choke up engine which equals worse milege. So go figure more smog crap and more issues for break downs. Sounds like the 70s and early80s all over again. Govt needs to keeo their nose out of our business and keep an eye on these big corporations that are taking this country down. Not a sermon just a thought.. Freaken tired of Emissions BS..All it is is a money maker for the Govt in my state. The idiots at the emissions sations probably didnt even graduate HS
