Recall done and truck has been in shop twice since

Went in the shop for exhaust pressure sensor fault code. They replaced the sensor and 400 miles later its back in the shop for the same thing. They said the sensors were all sooted up. I am about fed up with this truck. 36200 miles and has had 2 EGRS, Numerous 02 sensors, a new turbo and now this new fault showing up. They told me they cant tell whats causing it. They test drove it and everything is within specs and nothing out of the ordinary.

The turbo was at 2700 mile. EGR at 28000 and 35000, 02 sensors at the same time as EGR. Then recall and all the exhuast pressure sensor starts throwing codes. I am getting ready to get rid of the truck. It looks like its going to be nothing but headaches. I have contacted Dodge to see if they will do anything for me.

I know deletes aren't cheap but they may solve many of your problems. Other more smart people than me will chime in on this one.

Unfortunately the truck is still under bumper to bumper warranty. I got the extended warranty. So I cant do the delete.

So you have done the J35 recall? I would say try another dealer if they aren't getting it fixed correctly.

I am having some of the same problems with my 07.5. It went in for a check engine light and they fixed it. It went in again and they did some programming and fixed it again. The light just came on again yesterday and I don't know why. I have had it since april 20th and it just turned 36000 miles. Should I start throwing a fit at the dealership or what?

if i had one i would go to the dealer and tell them to straighten it out or make them cover the rest of the drivetrain if you do the deletes.

there are plenty of directives on what to do to your truck. The one that sounds like it NEEDS to be done would tie your truck up for a couple days. It should be cleaned to a "like new" condition. Involves quite a bit of disassembly, cleaning, new EGR cooler, update ECM (or make sure it's up to date). Remove exhaust and clean and inspect cats, clean the lines for the exhaust psi sensor (sounds like they missed that one, I haven't seen a sensor bad yet.....not saying it can't happen though). Takes quite a bit of time, but the early 07's that we had "issues" with have seemed to be quite trouble free, especially with the ECM updates that have been made available the last year or so.

you can sell back your extended "bumper to bumper" warranty (which no warranty is bumper to bumper but they sure do try to sell them that way). get your money back. If you financed the truck, they will send that check directly to the finance company and apply to $ to the principle of the loan. Get the deletes

smarty jr 495
deletes from $300 on up

smile on your face with extra power and mileage= priceless

Ditto

I was going to sell mine back, but my dealer and I have a great relationship, which is rare in itself, and they will warranty anything that goes south like the a/c, powersteering etc. Just one claim on that and its worth it to me...

If you talk with your dealer and they give you the run around and wont work with you, sell it back like Chris said, you'll be much better off.

My California deletes (thanks mega-engr) have been on for about 6 weeks now. Absolutely NO issues (knock on wood). 16.1 mpg in town only, a/c on all the time and "some" spirited driving. Hand calculated also, 20.5 on the highway at 68 mph. Changed the oil last week and its still clean, whereas before it was dirty just pouring it in.

I'm all for clean air and clean diesels intrigue me, but until they get it figured out like they have with the gas engines, I'll let mine breath freely...
