Question Question on Cab and Chass.

Hey there! I'm new to this website and absolutely love it!!
I had a question about the C/C. On the auto tranny do they have the mannual setting like the 2500 and 3500 6.7's with beds?
If it did I would buy one in a heart beat. I was a dodge owner for about 3 years, love them to death. I got stupid and got a 07 powerjoke on of the stupidest thing I have done . I get about 10 mpg hand calc. with my Found On Road Dead. With my old 5.9 06 3500 I was getting 18 mpg hand calc. It sucks
I'm wanting to go with the regular cab 3500 c/c with the 60" cab to axle, single wheel. and either 6 sp. auto or the 6 sp man. I'm a farmer/ rancher from central Kansas. I will be putting a Hydrabed (round bale unroller) on it!!

Has anyone bought a 3500 w/ a bed? What kind a fuel millage are you getting?

They have a different transmission than the 2500 & 3500 pickups have but they can be shifted manually if you want to. The gearshift has the D, 1, 2, 3 on the dash, and the end of the gearshift lever has a button that with the first push it goes into 5th and changes the shift pattern up, the second push puts it into "overdrive off", 4th gear. You can go up to and hold any gear and I guess shift them from first through sixth, although I can't understand why you would want to. The transmission on the cab and chassis is a Aisin while the one on the pickups is a 68RFE. Both are six speeds, the Aisin is a work truck type transmission and carrys a 180k mile warranty. I pull with mine every day and it gets the job done.

Mileage depends on loads, towing up to 24k runs between 9 and 13, running the truck empty, it weighs 9800 lbs, it gets between 15 & 16.

Thanks!! I just didn't know if it was a Aisin on the 2500's and 3500's. I just don't know if the auto tranny is worth the 2,500 dollar price tag or not. I know you haven't had any problems but I just like the old manual!
eb290 what rearends are you running? 4:10's or 3:73? And what rpm are you running at 70 mph?
Thanks!

I have the Aisin transmission so my rear end is 4:10. I run about 1950 rpm at 70 mph.
