hrmm, ok so another question. When you are pulling at around 65-70, have you experimented to see if you get better mileage if you leave it in 5th and keep the rpm's up or what?

When i didnt reset my overhead for close to a thousand miles it stayed much closer to being accurate. I was planning on not reseting it for the next few thousand miles to test that out some more, but when i installed my recon's it somehow got reset.

Yes I get better mpg in 5th gear at those speeds, but nuttin to brag about. Although I can get almost 2 mpg better when trailing behind a big rig at those speeds

The overhead calculation is very accurate. It takes the fueling information from the PCM and distance from the trip and calculates average fuel economy. It only works if you reset it every time you fill up. It also helps to fill from the same pump. It does not help to fill until you see the level in the neck. There is air trapped in the tank that can change depending on how level your truck is sitting. I recommend letting the auto shut off engage, count to 5, let it auto shut off, count to 5, and let it shut off.

Which do you think is more accurate, the ECM calculation or the fuel stations pump meter? I too have wondered how I got 35.4 gallons in my 35 gallon tank. Should have complained or called the weights and measures people, cause I think this happens more than we think.

You got 35.4 cause your tank is 35 gallons only. Not including your fill neck, and fuel lines.

When you fill the tank, the lines cannot be filled because they are on the top of the tank before the transfer pump (it's not gravity fed). And like I said, I do not fill the neck up. I let it autostop 3 times and that's it. It is not in the neck at that point.
