Q's about the new 6.7 auto tranny

How is the newer auto holding up? I just wanted to make sure they dont have the same problems as the ole 48re like tq converter issues slipping clutches ect before i buy one. I drove a new 07 manual and an 08 auto and was super impressed with the way they drove. plenty of power and the exhaust brake was great. I really only need one work truck but after reading with all the problems with the newer truck and the constant crap from my 06 i figured i could drive one while the other is being worked on.

Got 172k miles on the clock with the tranny holding up just fine. Although I got 240k miles out of the 48re in my 04.5 before it took a dump and needed to be rebuilt. Had Dodge do the rebuild with their stock parts and then the 48re broke again after 80k miles on the rebuild. Had to go with Dodge doing the rebuild as I use the truck for work and they bill me on a 90 days cash basis. 3/4 of the miles on both trucks are towing miles. Also had to replace the governor pressure switch on the 48re 2 times - none of that with the 68re so far. Serviced both tranny's according to the manual.

I have 44,000 on mine, and thats all with an Edge/attitude, and some moderate to heavy hauling. So far I am very impressed with it. If it last as long as my allison did in the chevy I will be happy. The allison lasted 86,000 before melting down.
