Pros and Cons for goin to 08 from 06

didn't realize it was this prevalent. still my point stands. 6.7 snobbery is uncalled for, I'll continue to praise the 5.9 as the greatest engine ever made in any forum I please.

I really am happy with my 08. I wonder why people even post about 5.9's on this forum? Who cares?[/
many of us care. a few of us are even going back to them. I never though I'd see the day when I got rid of a new 07 for a used 06, but I did. it's almost like you are suggesting the 5.9 is obsolete with the introduction of the 6.7
not starting a brand war, but you don't see people trading their new Duramaxes and Powerstrokes (except for the rare 7.3) on older used versions?
I'll go out on a limb and suggest we'll still be talking about the CR 5.9 when a replacement is announced for the 6.7
This is a forum for 6.7's. There are other forums for 5.9's. I currently own both. I don't come to this forum to learn or share 5.9 info, and I couldn't care less about Ford or Chevy.

We all know you had a bad experience with your 6.7. let it go. Enjoy your New 5.9. People still talk very fondley( and with good reason) of the P pump/ 12valve motors. I am more interested in how the new motors can be improved, how they'll evolve. We all can't live in the past...

Alright Guys settle down we dont need a war going on here, The 5.9 has its perk's and so does the 6.7. Alright now, i talked to him and told him to wait and see how his truck does for the next few months and if i can get him to wait until 09 (i think that is what i read) and tell him to get one of them with the new fuel system if he still want to go with a 6.7, and over all the truck would pull a trailer every week, and haul around stuff (car parts, welders and so on)
Unless he got a bad set of u-joints, i would check the driveline angles to make sure they are within spec. Also make sure the engine or tranny mounts aren't bad, that could also cause problems with driveline angles. And if he installed greasable ones, did he grease them after he installed them? I think they usually only put enough grease in them to hold the needle bearings in place.
only about 1% of people who bad mouth the 6.7 actually own one. the rest dont and probaly never drove one. ive had 4 (Yes 4) 5.9 cr trucks. they are not without there problems. 6.7 might of have some emmisions problems at first but the 03 - 06 were not flawless. dropped valves, cracked or leaky injection pumps, bad injectors,u joints, 48re trans issues ,lift pump issues. did we forget about all of those? how about the bad injector polls on every diesel website there is? the 6.7 is a good package as much as the die hard 5.9 guys hate to believe. i still own 2 5.9's. there great trucks and always has been but not without there fair share to the dealer. btw my 6.7 has never been to the dealer gets good milage and stock for stock compared to the 5.9 as far as power to the ground is concerned. not even a fair match.
My buddy has a 06 dodge dually 4 door long box with an automatic transmission and 4x4 and he has recently bought it with 66,000 miles on it, and he is having problems with it already with u-joints, radiator hoses, and now transmission and he is wondering what would be the pros and cons from a 06 to an 08 besides the difference between the 5.9 and the 6.7 and exhaust break
o yeah i almost forgot, 08 dodge 2500 4 door short box 6 speed 4x4 w/exhaust break
Any information will help thx
