Haven't had time to activate it yet in my truck. Is there a code number actually on the reciever as they tell me at the dealer? I really dont want to take the dash trim panel off if there is another way of finding the code number.

If you call sirius, they can walk you through the button pushing process.

mnmlod,
What radio model is in your truck? Does yours have nav? I have the factory sirius radio with no nav, just single cd am/fm/ sat. there is no modle number that I can see on the faceplate and as far as I can tell does not display all of the info that yours does. The owners manual doesn't say that there is a way to bring up the info that your talking about (song title, artist, ect) I wish it did that would be nice.

As far as signal delay, when I first change channels there is a slight delay (a few seconds) before sound is heard it is not instantanious. Since this has always happened I am assuming this is the norm for sattelite radio.

the manual that came with your truck will list the different radios that dodge put in them and the different features each has. The laramies should all have the full nav/sat/cd/am/fm package with full display and info. Some of you may have to turn your info on which is in the options menu. The dealer turned my info off when it was in for servicing and it took me about two weeks to figure the **** thing out agian.

As far as reception, the antenna for the satellite sucks in my opinion. The aftermarket sirius radio that I put in my wifes van works way better then the factory one on my truck. I have a two story garage shop and I can listen to satellite in her van with the garage doors closed, but I loose the signal as soon as the front of my truck pulls into the bay. Same thing going down the road, if there are trees around, my signal is in and out, but in hers it is no problem until we go through a tunnel. Dodge and Cartoys both say I can not change the antenna without going to an aftermarket radio.

So getting back to your original question, I would think you have a bad receiver. If your reception on am/fm was also faulty and they all went out or worked at the same time I would think it was a grounding problem with the antenna wire (had that problem in a previous vehicle), but your am/fm works so that can not be it. Good luck and let us know when you get it figured out.

Sounds like you have an "REF" radio. The model designation is printed on the front of the radio just below one of the ***** (can't remember at this moment). As for your "symptom," that seems normal to me. It takes the unit a second or two to acquire and buffer the signal.
