P0471 Code
Hello all:
While on a trip last month I got the P0471. I searched the forum and after learning what was the most likely problem cleaned the sensor and inlet hole. Code went away for 2 weeks and came back on this week. Today I took the sensor off and cleaned it, took the tube feeding the sensor off and cleaned it and the code is still showing (I erased the codes with my reader, drove, CEL came back on with same code)
Is their a way to check the sensor itself or are their any other systems associated with the P0471 error code?
On a side note I cleaned the tube in the following manner. Removed tube and put it in my bench vise (note: clamp by mounting tab not on the tube itself) sprayed brake cleaner and let soak for a few minutes, blew out with air hose, then ran a piece of star patterned trimmer line all the way though, hooked it up to power drill and spun the line to clean the inside of the tube, it worked really well.

You did get the 2 mm orifice hole in the t-stat housing clean also? Then most likely sensor is bad. Check 5 volt and ground to sensor to make sure that's OK.
