New Turbo under Warranty!!

I just got back from my Dodge Dealer. They installed a new design, Holset Turbo, under warranty. I had no problems with them, as they were very interested in what I had done to the truck. They also said that if I had any problems later, to let them know, and they would fix it under warranty.
That said; I am sure that if someone installs al of the deletes, and a programmer, and runs it on a high setting, causing engine damage, I doubt they are going to get any help. I am not a kid, and I try to maintain my truck, not tear it up, and my dealer knows this.
My new Turbo has a raised cast area, where the clean out plug is installed. This is a Factory New Holset, and came new in a Cummins box. The dealer said there are a few differences inside, but did not know what they are, maybe electrical, I do not know.
I wanted to let everyone know the main difference is the raised area for the factory installed cleanout plug.

Same here - just got it installed last week along with complete new EGR system and I am seeing a bit of a mileage improvement with the AY flash I got over a month ago. Going in next to get the new shielded oxygen sensors with the wrap which will bring my 07 to the very latest updates possible as far as I know. Not sure what to expect from the sensors except they are supposed to help reduce soot.

Dropped my 07, 6.7 0ff yesterday for the CEL/ Turbo light.

The first dealer that did the repair drilled the turbo but forgot to plug the hole. I returned to my dealer (Where Purchased) for this last repair after 4 cel’s… I was told that they would test the turbo and see if it needed replaced ???

Thanks to the previous three post, I called and told the dealer to install the new Holset Turbo.

Thanks………………..

My 2007 is getting a new turbo sometime next week. Would have been done already but they didn't have one of the sensors in stock or something. I need to ask about this Holeset turbo.

For someone who has been living under a rock, what is it, and any recommendations on how I can convince the dealer to use this as the replacement?

BTW, I have less than 10,000 miles on the truck. It has had 3 CEL's in the last 1,000 mile alone. Not to mention the countless others.

According to my service rep, I'm getting the new Holeset turbo design installed in my truck today. I sure hope this fixes my CEL issues.

My new Turbo is a Holset, and came in a new Cummins Box.
My Dealer said the new style Holset is the only Turbo they have seen, and as far as he knows, it is the only one available now.

Is the plug on your turbo the little set screw w/ the hex head in the darker cast area of your turbo? I have not seen one yet...

possible hijack?

Speaking of funny growths on turbos......has anyone brought up the large cast pad on the exhaust housing or am I? It looks as though Holset may have thought about twins at some point or another. Probably been done to death already?
