As I understand it, the larger city train yard depots are very full with new truck deliveries waiting to be cleared and transported out to the dealers.

The dealer can ask the depot manager to red tag your truck by VIN and as a courtesy, often the transporter will get it right out to the dealer depending on work loads.

Because I live so far from the dealer, they have arranged two red tag deliveries so I can plan the trip up there and back on a day certain.

When I ordered mine it took 5 weeks to get to me, they red taged it from the beginning. The ship yard had it delevered to the dealer with in 12 hours after it got into port. DC wanted to sell a truck bad and the dealer was wonderful. I was in NY at the time and the truck came into Newark about 4 hour drive. I think that the truck you ordred will be made in Mexico so the production halt may not affect your order. As far as the incentives you are gaurnteed the insentive when ordred. so hopefully it goes up.

Thumbs up Dave Smith Motors

I ordered mine from Dave Smith and it was in the dealer's lot in 29 days. Unfortunately,my Farm Bureau membership wasn't old enough to use it. Dave Smith gave me another $337 off for a win win situation. They guaranteed incentives as of day of order and would up the ante if Dodge came through. Great place. This was on my '07 5.9. I received it 11-21-07

Curious how you got your truck back to CA? Did you fly into ID? If so, which airport? I see the directions from Spokane, but it's then a 75 mile drive from the airport. Not too bad I guess, but can you drop your rental car off at the dealer (Dave Smith)?

I just ordered from Dave Smith on Saturday 12/29 - 2008 Mega 3500 SRW CTD Mineral Gray. Can't Wait! Just planning whether I'm going to have it picked up and hauled back or if I'm going to fly in and drive 'er back. I'd rather fly and drive...

Banks,

If you ordered from DS they will pick you up at the airport in Spokane. I ordered mine Sept 15th and it was on the lot Oct 22nd. Talk to your salesman/woman about transportation options. They have shuttles that do nothing but make runs to Spokane to pick people up. I have even heard of them paying for airfare for people. This is not always the case and there may have be extenuating circumstances but I have heard of it being done.

Thanks very much for your reply, I will talk to my salesperson and set it up. Thanks again!

Yes that does suck. My dealer said it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get my 08 2500 MC loaded laramie 4x4. ordered on 12/31/07
I ordered mine from Button Dodge in Kokomo IN. My truck stickered for 53500 and I got it for 40500 plus they threw in a bed liner and rear wheel well liners. 13K off is pretty good I thought.

I got employee price and was told I couldn't use my farm bureau discount. Is that true? How long do you have to have a membership before you can use it?
thanks

TTDiesel,

Sounds like you got a great price on your new truck. I recently purchased a 2007 SLT 2500 Quad Cab with the sticker price being 48,000 thousand. They discounted it 12,500 dollars, which I was quite please about.

I honestly think 35,500 dollars is a pretty good deal myself!!

Hope you get it soon,

Matt

Yes, that is a great deal. Unfortunately, for me dealers don't seem to deal as much on the laramies. I have had multiple dealers in multiple states give me 13000 off of SLTs because they have so many. I live in ILL and it took me 9 months to find the dealer in IN that would deal on laramies. I have a dealer 4 miles from my home and work and I told both of them to screw off when they won't give me employee pricing. I am so tired of hearing "we won't make any money if we sell it at that price" I could scream. I wish there were dealers that only deal in diesel trucks.

Call up Dave smith!!! Those guys will bend over backwards to help you get just what you want. The only catch is your drive back home, but what a great way to get familiar with a new truck and get some of the break in done!!

I was going to buy my new truck from them. On a whim while visiting the inlaws my wife and i went in to a dealer is Sacremento to drive the 2 we were looking at. Of course the salesman went into his schpeell and I siad he was not going to like me! I told him what DS would sell it to me for and he said they would not honor any prices from them. I said no problem but he backtracked and went to the MGR. Long story short, they got within about 500.00 on a better truck so I took the deal!!
