Is new 6 Speed auto made by AISIN or Orion?

O.K. a buddy of mine and me are in a conflict over who makes these new transmissions. I believe they are made by Aisin, and he says Orion. Who is right??????

Thanks for the input. I though the 4500, and 5500 possibly used the same tranny as the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks.

I believe that Chrysler makes the 68RFE for the pick-ups in house. Some say that it's with help from MB? BTW does Diamler still own a small part of Chrysler?

Aisin makes the one in the C&C only, the 68RFE is made by Chrysler. The name Orion that was in the early press release was/is the code name for it.

i dont think they are dif

i had to bring my 07 3/4 6.7 in for the same problem that the 3500 has and they put the recall sofware from the 3500 in my 2500 so i would have to think that they are the same my dealer told me they were anyway. but i can tell you if you havnt gone in to have this done dont unless you want to get just half the mileage you were .at this time there is 20 of us from the same dealer that are looking to file a class action suite to get the old program put back in or the truck fixed .it must be against the law to sell a truck and then take it back and make it a diffrent truck and give it back.and if it isnt then we need to get together and make it.so if there is any guys or gals who have bought this truck and had this happen i would love to talk thanks

Yes, when the deal went down to sell toe Cerebus (sp?) Diamler didn't sell it to them entirely, Cerebus obtained an 80.1% stake in the company while MB maintained the rest.
