DPF/EGR codes...need an opinion

And deleting isn't an available option right now because I have warranty for 2 more years. I'm hoping someone experienced or knowledgable (like Chris...) can give me some guidance.
My truck...completely stock/58k miles...has been showing symptons of an approaching issue lately, like being completely dead/powerless when pulling away from a stop...which then seems to clear up and run great for a while. Until yesterday it was showing no cel codes. Yesterday, while dragging my small enclosed dirtbike trailer home, the truck seemed down on power...turbo didn't seem to spool up below 2k. I decided to push it a bit when all of a sudden I saw a blast of smoke in the mirror and the cel lit up. The smoke then quit. I was about 4 miles from home, so I continued there before checking codes.
I have the following codes: 1451, 042E, 0420, 242F and 0489. From what I've read, 2 are sooted/ashed-up dpf/catalyst codes and a couple are egr related.
I ordered an egr cleaning kit from Geno's which should be here in a couple of days. My question is should I clean the egr, drive it a bit to see if the dpf/catalyst issues to clear themselves? Or do I take it straight to the dealer. I don't trust the dealer in the town where I live...few people do. The next closest is 35-40 miles away. Will it hurt the truck to drive it that distance with the current issues?
Suggestions (other than to delete)? To this point in its life, other than the fuel mileage getting worse rather then better with age, the truck has been problem free.

If you are under warranty, let the dealer fix it. Even if you have to travel to another dealer to do so. That short of a trip you should be fine. The turbo may be too far gone for a home cleaner, and need several cleanings or a replacement.

Thanks Blake! Feeling sure that the dealer would do this as part of the fix, I decided to do the EGR cleaning myself...both to save $$'s and to serve as a learning experience. I have the cooler soaking right now, and plan to re-assemble it tonight. With what how the turbo is behaving, its likely that it needs cleaned...isn't it?

While I had the EGR valve off, I decided to pull the "air horn" to clean it out. I'm glad that I did. Do you have a suggestion as to how to clean the grid heater while its on the manifold...other then to use a vacuum and a brush?
