Well after 6 months of research and constantly changing my mind about what to buy I finally made a purchase today. This morning I test drove a 6.7 68rfe QC 4X4 SB. 3 Hrs. later and 100 miles away I drove my 9th or 10th 2007 5.9 QC 4X4 SB. I bought the 5.9. Both trucks were great but in my experience the 5.9 was definitely quieter and I felt with the 68rfe there was a lot of shifting going on. Anyway, that's my story, now maybe I'll be able to seperate myself from much too much DTR and get back to the rest of my life. I plan to keep my truck totally stock except some kind of step so we can get in and out. We will be towing a 4000lb dry weight travel trailer and hope to be able to see a bit more of the USA. The 5.9 is definately not quieter. The 6.7 is so much quieter in person it's unbelievable, they measured it at 50% reduction in engine noise.

Other than that congrats on the truck, the 5.9 will treat you well. And with the money you saved you could pick up a lot of mods to make that 5.9 really scoot
